Online Bill Pay Refund Policy

The Patient Accounts Department will work with you to resolve any billing discrepancies that may occur. If there is an overpayment to your account, it will be refunded to the appropriate party. Over payments will be transferred to other open self-pay accounts up to the amount that is due. The refund of any remaining credit balance will be sent to the patient/guarantor. Please allow a few weeks for a credit balance to be processed. If you believe you have made a payment in error or have any other issues or questions related to your payment history with Waterbury Hospital, please call or contact us via our website.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

Access Code and Security

The Online Bill Pay “Service” will be accessible through an access code assigned by Waterbury Hospital. You agree not to give or make available your access code to any unauthorized individuals. If you believe that your access code has been lost or stolen or that someone may attempt to use your access code without your consent or has authorized payments without your permission, you must notify us at once. You must restrict or inhibit any other user from using the Service. You may not send any unlawful, fraudulent, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening, offensive, or otherwise objectionable information of any kind. You may not use the “Service” to conduct any illegal activity or solicit the performance of any illegal activity, including without limitation the U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Your liability for Unauthorized Transfers

If you tell us within two (2) business days after you discover your access code or the Software has been lost or stolen, you can lose no more than $50.00 if someone uses your account with us without your permission. If you do not tell us within two (2) business days after you learn of such loss or theft, and we can prove that we could have stopped someone from using your access code of the Software without your permission if you had told us, you could lose as much as $500.00.

In the Event Your Bank Returns a Transaction

In using the “Service”, you are requesting us to make and accept payments for you from your designated transaction account. If your financial institution, or the holder of the account from which you have designated payment is unable to process a transaction (for example, there are not sufficient funds in your account to cover the transaction), the transaction may not be completed. Typical processing time for credit card transactions is 3 business days.

Types of Payments and Limitations on Payees

You may use the “Service” to authorize payment from an account that you designate. We reserve the right to refuse to pay any person or entity to which you may direct a payment. We are obligated to notify you promptly if we decide to refuse to pay a person or entity designated by you. This notification is not required i you attempt to pay tax or court-related payments, which are prohibited under this Agreement.

Charges

As a customer of the “Service”, you will not be charged by us for receiving a bill electronically or for payment authorizations that you choose to send electronically. There may be a charge of additional transactions and other optional services.

Copyright

The contents of the documents are copyrighted under the United States copyright laws. The owner of the copyright is Waterbury Hospital. You may download or print portions of material from the Service solely for your own non-commercial use. You may modify as necessary for your personal or business use. Any other copying, redistribution, retransmission to any other entity or publication of any viewable material is strictly prohibited without our express written consent. You also agree not to change or delete any proprietary notices from materials downloaded from the Service.
