As the number of Coronavirus cases has decreased in the past several weeks, Waterbury Hospital officials have decided to allow visitors back to the hospital with some restrictions. Starting today, one visitor will be allowed per patient in all acute and ambulatory areas with some restrictions:

  • No visitors under the age of 16 permitted are permitted.
  • No visitors for COVID-positive or suspected positive patients.
  • All visitors must:
    • get temperature checked
    • answer a symptom questionnaire: (do you have shortness of breath, cough)
    • wear facemasks at all times
    • and maintain social distancing.

All visitors must stop at front desk in Main Entrance to get screened and pick up visitor pass.

“We know how important family care and support are to healing. The last few months have been particularly difficult for patients and families as we stopped visitations to help protect everyone from Coronavirus. We believe we are at a point, where with social distancing, screening, and some restrictions in place, we can allow visitors back,” said Waterbury Hospital Chief Medical Officer Dr. Justin Lundbye.
