Thyroid Ultrasound and Biopsy Clinic
If you have a lump in your neck, notice that your neck is swollen or have abnormal thyroid blood work, an ultrasound or biopsy may need to be completed to diagnose the disorder.
Our in-office ultrasounds and ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsies are completed by one of Alliance Medical Group’s Endocrinologist.
Biopsy samples are sent to Waterbury hospital and are read by a medical doctor with expertise in thyroid pathology.
During the initial biopsy we always set aside part of the material to potentially perform specialized genetic testing if indicated to further characterize thyroid nodules and help to determine individualized treatment plan for each patient.
